DIGGIstage gears up for a productive future with new owner
Berlin / Dresden, 2020-12-22
A crazy and challenging year is coming to an end, marked by uncertainty and constantly new bad news. All the more pleasing is the news from DIGGIstage that it will continue in 2021 with a new owner and new music.
In 2019, the founder of DIGGIstage, Maik Schenk, announced to his artists and partners that he would like to retire from the music business as an active producer and artist after more than 25 years. This was also accompanied by the news that he wants to part with his music label DIGGIstage. However, in order to let the idea and the previously released works of the artists live, a new owner was sought and finally found.
He is an artist, performer as well as producer and started his music career with his first single also at DIGGIstage. The Dresden-born Daniel Matka, better known as Duo Madstep, takes over as the new owner of the music label DIGGIstage with new headquarters in Dresden on Jan. 1st, 2021.
Daniel was able to gain a lot of experience in his career so far, both as an artist, but also as a producer. He already created a considerable network, so he is also very well positioned for topics such as collaborations, production, mixing and mastering. To start a music label was only the last logical step. However, Maik Schenk will still work for the label in the background as a consultant and expert for collecting societies, contributing his experience and know-how.
Maik Schenk about the takeover: "I am very happy, especially for my artists, that the idea DIGGIstage will continue to exist and I have found a visionary and enthusiastic new owner in Daniel. So I look with bright eyes into a great future for DIGGIstage."
